Christ College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda has taken a major step toward strengthening industry–academia collaboration by signing an MoU with Golden Gate Battery (GGB). This partnership launches a research-oriented internship programme focused on advanced battery technologies.

Under the initiative, four B.Sc. Chemistry students—Abhijith K. S., Aleena Mariya Babu, Parvathy K. J., and Smruthi Das—have been selected to work on battery electrolyte development.

GGB has extended financial support to the Christ College Innovation Centre for ongoing research and innovation-driven learning. The contribution was announced by Dr. Saroj Sahu, Chairman, GGB.

The project is supported technically by Dr. Prima Francis, enabling students to gain hands-on exposure to industrial research practices and electrolyte formulation. Faculty mentors from the Department of Chemistry will guide the interns throughout the programme.

College leadership, including Rev. Dr. Jolly Andrews (Principal), Dr. Rani Varghese (HoD – Chemistry), and Rev. Dr. Jijo Francis (Director – Research & Innovation Centre), highlighted the significance of this collaboration in preparing students for careers in energy research and sustainable technologies.
